The Last Push: Vote Early, Bring a Neighbor
Friends and neighbors,
We're in the home stretch. Early voting in North Carolina ends at 3 p.m. this Saturday, October 31, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. If you haven't voted yet, now is the time to make your plan.
Vote early if you can. In Wake County you can vote at any of the county's early voting sites, and lines tend to be longest in the final days, so don't wait for Saturday afternoon. Weekday hours run 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Find a site near you here: https://www.wake.gov/departments-government/board-elections/election-information/2026-general-election
Not registered yet? You can still register and vote the same day at any early voting site - just bring proof of where you live. Same-day registration is not available on Election Day.
Bring your photo ID. Most of us will use a North Carolina driver's license, but other photo IDs are accepted. If you can't show one, you can still vote by filling out a Photo ID Exception Form.
Voting on Election Day? Polls are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and you must go to your assigned polling place. Look it up, along with your sample ballot, at the State Board's Voter Search: https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/
And please, bring a neighbor. Offer a ride, a reminder, or just walk in together. A simple "Have you voted yet?" makes a real difference.
My picks this year: Michael Whatley for U.S. Senate, along with Brad Briner, Chris Stock, and Mike Schietzelt.
Whatever your choices, make your plan and make your voice heard. See you at the polls.
