Friday, October 9, at 5 p.m. is the deadline to register to vote in North Carolina for the November 3 general election.

If you have a North Carolina driver's license or DMV ID card, you can register online through the DMV. You can also return a paper registration form to the Wake County Board of Elections. It must be received or postmarked by October 9.

Moved recently? Check your registration now and update your address before Friday.

Missed the deadline? You can still register and vote the same day during early voting, October 15 through October 31. Bring a photo ID and proof of where you live.

Other dates to know:

  • Absentee ballot request deadline: 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 20

  • Early voting ends: 3 p.m. Saturday, October 31

  • Election Day: Tuesday, November 3

Please share this with a neighbor who just moved here or just turned 18.
